Ben Affleck has confirmed The Flash will mark his final tenure as Batman. However, it seems like the decision partly came about by taking some advice from his long-term friend, Matt Damon.
Both actors spoke to Entertainment Weekly about their influential and successful careers in Hollywood. During the feature, Affleck revealed he asked for help from Damon on whether he should continue as the Caped Crusader.

Matt Damon Helped Ben Affleck Quit His Batman Role
The Argo star has previously spoken about how difficult Joss Whedon's Justice League shoot was. Because of the experience, he was questioning his stance as the Caped Crusader:
I had a really nadir experience around Justice League for a lot of different reasons. Not blaming anybody, there’s a lot of things that happened. But really what it was is that I wasn’t happy. I didn’t like being there. I didn’t think it was interesting. And then some really s***** things, awful things happened. But, that’s when I was like, I’m not going to do that anymore.
Affleck turned to Jason Bourne himself for help. The two friends shot to fame in the 1990s, after they both won Best Original Screenplay Oscars for Good Will Hunting. During EW's interview, he mentioned that Matt Damon helped come to the outcome:
In fact, I talked to you about it and you were a principal influence on that decision. I want to do the things that would bring me joy.
The pair reunited to write and star in The Last Duel, in which the filming experience on the medieval picture rivalled Justice League for Affleck.
Then we went and did Last Duel and I had fun every day on this movie. I wasn’t the star, I wasn’t likable. I was a villain. I wasn’t all the things I thought I was supposed to be when I started out and yet it was a wonderful experience. And it was all just stuff that came along that I wasn’t chasing.
