Elden Ring fans from different subreddits discuss how this fan ended up thinking about this conspiracy theory, with many fans calling the theory “unhinged.”
Posted on Reddit by user u/gfy_expert, they shared several images of a thread in 4chan stating that the original poster in the said forum has a trial court meeting with Bandai Namco this coming September 25, 2024, accusing Bandai Namco of hiding content from players in the game Elden Ring. The original poster also mentioned a similar case of cut content from games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Bloodborne.

In the 4chan thread, the original poster continued to talk about how developers cater to crazy people, saying that ordinary people do not have the courage to explore the “unknown world.” They’ve also added the docket number for their court hearing to keep players updated about what will happen during the hearing. Upon checking on the details of the docket number, the original poster filed the lawsuit under the small claims category, which further cements the ridiculousness of their accusations.
The images had been posted on the Elden Ring subreddit months before, but the case has resurfaced nearing its scheduled hearing date. The original poster even tried to relate the mathematical concept of “Division By Zero” to their conspiracy, saying that Miyazaki wanted fans to go insane because of Bloodborne.
Many fans thought of this theory as hilarious and borderline schizophrenic. However, as many have mentioned, the theory itself is too farfetched. According to some fans, data miners would have known about these “new worlds” if it were true. The original poster is set to appear in court next week, and gamers everywhere can expect to see some updates on the hearing's result.
