Destiny 2 Season 15 Will Make Big Changes To Reputation

Destiny 2's next season will make changes to the game's reputation system as part of an overhaul of the Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit Ritual activities, Bungie has confirmed in its latest blog post.

In Season 15, Commander Zavala's reputation system will work more similarly to the Crucible and Gambit reputation systems implemented since Season of the Chosen.

Destiny 2 Season 15 Will Make Big Changes To Reputation

Beginning in Season 15, players will no longer earn reputation for Lord Shaxx, The Drifter, or Commander Zavala - they'll be named Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard ranks respectively.

Infamy and Valor ranks are being retired, while Glory will remain for the competitive Crucible playlist, as well as new Trials Ranks for Trials of Osiris players.

Bungie also notes that each of the setups will be tuned to allow faster rank-ups, with win streak bonuses being switched out for activity streak bonuses in Vanguard activities, and bonus reputation weeks will now double the reputation earned.

Here's what Bungie says about activity streaks:

Season 15 will introduce activity streaks. The longer you stay in Vanguard activities (playlists or direct launch), the larger your streak bonus is. Guardians can leave the matchmaking queue to snag bounties from the Tower or clean out their Postmaster in the H.E.L.M. without worry of losing their activity streaks. As a note, quitting activities or going AFK for extended periods of time will invalidate your streak, so be ready to play if you’re looking to keep yours going.

Crucible and Gambit will still receive weekly reputation boosts as they have done prior.

Bounties will now primarily serve as XP earners, with no reputation earned.

Bungie also explained that winning Crucible or Gambit matches will help you increase your reputation faster, but losing will feel less punitive progression-wise than before.

Vanguard reputation can be earned from Strikes, Nightfalls and Battlegrounds, with more powerful Nightfalls offering higher reputation rewards.

Grandmaster Strikes will also be seeing some tweaks heading into Season 15. Bungie notes that the catch-up node in the Director will arrive at the same time as the Grandmaster is made available as long as you have the Conqueror title, and you'll be able to play each featured Strike to earn the gilded title.
