Disney Dreamlight Valley allows players to explore different biomes filled with Disney and Pixar characters. Gather resources, use magical spells, and interact with beloved characters. You can also visit the Valleys of your friends in the Multiplayer mode. The developers keep adding new characters to the game now and then.
With the Jungle Getaway Update, we got Timon and Pumbaa. This pair comes from the Lion King Ream. Like all the other realm characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must finish a few Quests, challenges, or objectives to bring the pair to the valley. This guide discusses the entire process in detail. Here’s how to unlock Timon and Pumbaa in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Unlock Timon And Pumbaa?
Unlocking new characters in the game requires you to complete a set of objectives or Quests. Timon and Pumbaa are no different. Here’s everything you need to do.
Quest 1: Triggering “Finding Old Friends”
There are 3 quests to unlock Timon and Pumba, this one is the first. Here, players will have to interact with Simba to start a Finding Old Friends Quest. Once you speak to Simba, he expresses concern for his friends. He then asks Dreamers to go back into the Lion King Realm.
If Simba isn’t in the valley, you’ll need to unlock the Lion King Realm and befriend him after bringing him to Dreamlight Valley.
Meeting Timon and Pumbaa
Coming back to the Lion King Realm triggers a cutscene that reveals the duo’s location. Track the spot and interact with them. After telling them that you’re a friend of Simba and would like them to join you, they will initially refuse.
Instead, The duo will ask you to take a few Hakuna Matata lessons collect a few resources to make a crafting table, and transform it into a Mane.
Materials Required
The materials are quite easy to obtain in the Lion King Realm. Here is a list of all the Materials needed for the Mane:
- 4 pieces of Jungle Stones.
- 4 pieces of Red Jungle Leaves.
- 4 pieces of Jungle Wood.
Screaming Your Fears
Once you’ve acquired the Mane, Timon and Pumba will engage in a conversation.
Now you’ll need to make your way to the wooden log and go to the river where you’ll fish out a crown. Using the crafting table, you’ll need to create an Empty Vial which requires Glass.
You can also craft an Empty Vial by combining Coal Ore and Sand.
Place the Crown on the rock and break it with the help of the Pickaxe. Follow the duo to the river where you’ll need to scream your fears into an Empty Vial and throw it in the water. Once done, go to sleep by summoning the Shovel and using it on beds.
Quest 2: “Relax!”
After rising from your nap, interact with Pumba to start the second quest, Relax!
This quest resolves around teaching your character how to relax. To do so, though, you’ll need the following items:
- 6 pieces of Jungle Vines.
- 2 pieces of Palm Tree Sap.
After the Hammock is ready, hand it over to Pumbaa who will find a place to set it up. After trying it, he’ll ask you to try the Hammock in three different locations. These spots include near the Camp, River, and the Oasis.
Once you’re done trying out the scenic locations, return to Pumbaa and sleep. After the nap, you’ll need to water three dried mud spots to play with the duo and catch fireflies in the three relaxation spots.
Cook the Fireflies and go to sleep.
Quest 3: “Where’s Pumbaa?”
After waking up, you’ll find Timon panicking as Pumbaa is missing. This starts the last quest.
Make your way to the Oasis where you’ll find Pumbaa stuck in a log tree. Take a picture of Pumbaa and interact with Timon. He’ll ask you to look for bugs to craft an oil mix.
Locate all the required bugs by using the Pickaxe on the three rocks near the river. Ask Timon for the Recipe and make your way to the green stover near the river to cook Green Bug Oil and Orange Bug Oil. Combining the two will give you the Super Slippery Bug Oil which you’ll hand over to Timon. Shower Pumbaa with the oil but it will not work.
You’ll need to visit the Dreamlight Valley and interact with Goofy. He’ll give you an old plunger and tell you to acquire a few items. Here’s everything you need:
- 10 Pieces of Iron Ingots.
- 10 pieces of Rope.
- 5 Pieces of Tourmaline.
- 15 Pieces of Hardwood.
Using the following material, you’ll craft the Reinforced Plunger. Use it to free Pumbaa and head back to camp. Go to sleep with Pumbaa and Timon. Later, you’ll be able to welcome them to the village.
