Bioware's planning to rejuvenate Dragon Age with a fourth entry soon. Though it'll be a while before the reported 2023 launch, it seems like EA's next instalment is skipping last-gen consoles, coming instead to PC and new-gen platforms.
As seen on the LinkedIn page for Dragon Age 4's Lead Player Designer, Daniel Nordlander, one eagle-eyed Twitter user, Faizan Shaikh, noticed that the game won't launch on PS4 or Xbox One.

Dragon Age 4 Is Seemingly Receiving A Next-Gen Only Release
The designer's page bluntly states which platforms are being planned which are: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It's bad news for PS4 and Xbox One users, since they won't have a chance to experience the adventure, but not entirely surprising. Companies are gradually shifting to the current generation and Bioware can take full advantage of the Xbox Series X|S and PS5's capabilities.
EA recently announced a similar manoeuvre for the Dead Space remake, which exclusively launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Thus focus on next-gen tech has resulted in a lack of load times, also maximising audio and graphical fidelity.
Elsewhere, Bioware's also hard at work creating a new Mass Effect. While details on this entry remain scarce, development is rumoured to follow Dragon Age 4. Bioware is possibly aiming to enter full-scale production in 2023 , while shifting back to Unreal Engine from Andromeda's use of Frostbite.
