Star Wars is about to have its first-ever open-world video game with the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws. Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, there are several things fans and players want to see from this new game.

Star Wars Outlaws will chronicle the escapades of the independent scoundrel Kay Vess as she battles for her liberty and strives to carve out a new life with her partner, Nix.

Players will be able to explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both old and new. They can also fight, steal, outwit the galaxy’s crime syndicates, and become among the most wanted.

With its familiar setting, here are the five things fans want to see from Star Wars Outlaws.

Crimson Dawn

The preview for Star Wars Outlaws features the crime syndicate Pykes.

However, as it gives a quick glimpse at the crime lord Lady Qi’ra, it hints at the appearance of another criminal syndicate, Crimson Dawn.

Formerly led by the Sith Lord, Darth Maul, Crimson Dawn worked with the Pykes after its leader established Shadow Collective, the top syndicates’ alliance.

Qi’ra holds control of Crimson Dawn and continues criminal activity by infiltrating numerous organisations across the galaxy.

With this connection, fans expect to see Crimson Dawn sometime in the story.

Boba Fett

The Star Wars Outlaws synopsis reveals that Kay has a bounty placed on her, which prompts her to pull off a major heist.

If this bounty is high enough, it may see the emergence of Boba Fett.

Add that to Han Solo's trailer cameo frozen in carbonite, and Boba may appear in the game. After all, Solo was turned over to Fett to transport to Jabba’s Place in canon.

Fett has already appeared in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and it will be great to see Kay fighting off the galaxy's most feared bounty hunter.

Lando Calrissian

Another character who may appear in Star Wars Outlaws is Lando Calrissian. Like Fett, Lando is part of the criminal underworld as a smuggler, gambler, and entrepreneur.

Sure, he joins the Rebel Alliance after The Empire Strikes Back but maintains his connection within the underworld, mainly to track Han down.

Though it remains to be seen how integrated frozen Han is to the game’s plot, one of Kay’s missions may involve Lando.

Nar Shaddaa

Star Wars Outlaws’ trailer also features Jabba the Hutt, so we have confirmation that he will be part of the story.

Knowing that Hutt has a vast reach, players may see other planets, like Nar Shaddaa.

Nar Shaddaa is a prominent criminal underworld location in Star Wars. And as a glimpse of it is also seen in the preview, there’s a big chance it may be one of the game’s playable worlds.

Though the trailer features several planets, there’s a good chance Nar Shaddaa will be one of them if the game sticks to the Outer Rim.

Chelli Lona Aphra

Chelli Lona Aphra is probably a wildcard pick, but the list wouldn't be complete without Doctor Aphra.

The story of Darth Vader’s archaeologist has not been explored in any medium outside the comics, but she has been around since 24 BBY.

She works for Vader before The Empire Strikes Back and encounters Luke and Leia. She, too, is around when Han is taken to auction by the Crimson Dawn.

That said, there’s a chance for Aphra to meet Kay in Star Wars Outlaws, though it remains to be seen which side she is on.

What storyline do you want to see to be part of Star Wars Outlaws? With the vast history of Star Wars, there are a lot of possibilities.

Star Wars Outlaws will be available on August 30, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Ubisoft Connect.
