The Call of Duty League (CDL) features the world’s best Call of Duty players juking it out for thousands in prize money along with a chance to lift the CDL trophy at the end of the season.
Throughout the Vanguard season, the majority of players decided against sharing their opinions in order to avoid fines despite the game containing plenty of game-breaking issues that Sledgehammer Games failed to address.
Following the conclusion of CDL Champs, several players from a number of teams describe Vanguard as the worst title they’ve ever played, citing a variety of reasons why the game failed to succeed on a competitive level.
Vanguard sucks according to the pros
Shortly after the Los Angeles Thieves secured a 5-2 victory over Atlanta FaZe to win their first championship rings, several competitors took to Twitter to vent their frustrations with the latest title. Three-time world champion James “Clayster” Eubanks says the game is “so bad” while Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson cites the x-ray glitch as one reason why the game wasn’t good.
In response to the glitch, newly-crowned world champ Sam “Octane” Larew reveals he’s used the glitch during Desert Siege matches for the past five months much to his amusement. “I was doing it on siege for 5 months,” says Octane.
One problem prevented players from using tactical equipment and the Dead Silence field upgrade. Instead of a fix arriving to rectify the problems or perform any weapon balancing, players took rules into their own hands by restricting numerous weapons and attachments in a bid to create some kind of level playing field.
Although the Vanguard season featured plenty of memorable moments, players are already turning their attention to Modern Warfare 2 hoping the game will contain fewer issues.
