Death Stranding was one of the games announced for the iPhone 15 Pro, alongside Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village. It looks like Hideo Kojima’s first major IP needs more time, as the Apple port has been delayed to 2024.

A Twitter post from 505 Games confirmed that the Kojima Productions title will need more time in development, telling fans to look out for a 2024 release. Originally, the game was supposed to come out this year, though a proper release date was never given. Since it’s already December, a delay for this port was inevitable.

The plan is to release Death Stranding Director’s Cut on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, so no Apple user gets left behind. Considering how difficult it must be to port games like this to Apple devices, even with the advances in technology, a delay is pretty understandable.

Still, now that the iPhone 15 Pro can handle massive games like Resident Evil 4 remake, the Death Stranding port should run fine. Admittedly, Death Stranding is a much more demanding title with wider areas to explore, so working on the title’s performance is a must.

Excitement for Kojima’s IP is at an all-time high, now that a sequel for the game has been announced. Naturally, since this is a game from Hideo Kojima, it’s hard to decipher what this sequel is even about, but that’s just how the developer is. Many fans said the same thing about the first game and it could be argued that most people don’t understand its plot.

It was also confirmed that A24 is working on a Death Stranding movie, which is a perfect fit if we’ve ever seen one. Details on the film are also pretty slim right now, though we assume that the same cast from the game will be returning.
