Cyberpunk 2077 features a whole host of characters to meet, shoot, and ally with. But Mike Pondsmith’s RPG is bigger than the gangs that rule Night City - in fact, there are some main characters that you should really know about. One of the standout ones is Johnny Silverhand, who is played by none other than Keanu Reeves. So we're going to run you through the first few characters you'll encounter on your exploration of Night City.

V
V is the player-controlled protagonist of Cyberpunk 2077, and players will be able to choose whether V is male or female. Players will also be able to choose V’s backstory, which in turn will impact questlines and the story progression.
The gender-neutral name of the main character is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the world of Night City, because V can be anyone.
Johnny
Johnny Silverhand is a central character in the Cyberpunk series, as well as an influential Rockerboy and the lead singer of the band in the 1988 version. What makes Johnny so much more relatable is the fact that he is portrayed by Keanu Reeves. As Johnny only lives on in the head of the game’s protagonist, it is hard to tell how much we will see of the John Wick actor without spoilers, but we did hear that way back in production he requested to have his lines doubled.
Jackie Welles
Jackie is a highly skilled assassin and is one of V’s earliest points of contact in the game. He's a merc originally from Heywood, and he gradually becomes V’s partner in future missions. When he was a teenager he was part of the Valentinos gang, but after a near-death experience during a shootout, he departed on good terms. Jackie is still friendly with the Valentinos gang and Padre.
Dexter DeShawn
Dexter ‘Dex’ DeShawn is known as one of the best fixers in Night City, but he has a killer instinct and an intimate knowledge of everything that goes on. He'd returned to the city after several years off the grid, and anyone who handles their first job for Dex is sure to succeed in the game.
