Epic Games revealed a massive collaboration coming with Chapter 5 Season 3 - Fallout x Fortnite.
Microsoft is no stranger to collaborating with Epic Games and has been incredibly open to the idea of seeing its characters running around cranking 90s, even allowing Xbox icon Master Chief to join Fortnite, something the likes of Nintendo haven't been able to do with their own IPs.
Riding the coattails of the recent success found by the Fallout TV show, which has sparked massive interest in the long-standing Bethesda franchise, Fortnite players will get to enjoy the wasteland in a whole new way.
With all that said, here's everything you need to know about the Fallout x Fortnite crossover.
Fallout x Fortnite Release Date
An in-game Fortnite message makes a reference to Fallout's Brotherhood of Steel, stating they'll arrive on May 24, the exact date Chapter 5 Season 3 kicks off.
Based on recent teasers that essentially confirmed the Fortnite 2024 leaked roadmap, the theme for this new season will be post-apocalyptic, a drastic shift from Chapter 5 Season 2's Greek mythology takeover.
Fallout x Fortnite Skins
It's all but a given that we'll see Fallout themed skins in Chapter 5 Season 3. Speculation surrounding how to get them is ongoing, as it's quite likely they can be tied to the battle pass as Epic does regularly add crossover skins in them.
Another potential way of introducing them is via a mini-event, although kicking off a brand-new season with an LTM (limited-time event) isn't something seen often in Fortnite, as all efforts are focused on the brand-new POIs and the battle pass contents for players to discover early on.
Finally, there's the Fortnite Item Shop, which can have an assortment of skins and other kinds of cosmetics themed around Bethesda's iconic IP.
Fallout x Fortnite Weapons
Another highly speculated thing that could arrive is different weapons to populate the Fortnite island. In Chapter 5 Season 2, which features Korra as a battle pass skin, players had access to multiple elemental abilities during the Avatar crossover.
It's highly likely players will get access to some unique weaponry as many weapons will be vaulted (not by Vault-Tec) to kick off Chapter 5 Season 3. Who knows? We might even see the addition of Power Armours to the island.
