A Society Medallion in Fortnite is a powerful item introduced in Chapter 5 that grants shield buffs. These offer players with both constant shield regeneration and increased maximum shield capacity.

However, they do come with a cost. When carrying a Society Medallion, you will appear as a glowing circle on your opponent's mini-map. This will reveal your location and make it tough to stay hidden from enemies during Fortnite matches. The more Medallions you carry, the smaller the circle gets.

Continue with our guide to learn more about Society Medallions and how to get and use them.

What are Fortnite Society Medallions?

Society Medallions in Chapter 5 Season 1 of Fortnite are currently the hottest item. They offer players a significant advantage on the battlefield combined with a risk.

The more medallions a player carries (a maximum of five), the faster the shield will recharge. This allows the player to stay in a fight longer and soak up more damage. Medallions also act as a key to a hidden vault that contains valuable loot like chests and high-quality weapons.

Whether or not to use Society Medalion depends entirely on how you play the game. They are a great tool if you like aggressive combat and need an edge in Shield generation. However, if you like playing a balanced game, the risk of getting your location exposed might outweigh the benefits.

How to get Fortnite Society Medallions

To get Society Medallions in Fortnite, you will have to visit five different spots on the map. Once you reach the location of the Medallion, you will have to take down the area boss to acquire the reward. Here's a list of locations you'll need to visit:
