Part of today’s beefy Hades II update is not just the new area of Mount Olympus, it also includes a handful of tools for Melinoe to use in her fight against Chronos. Among them is the final Nocturnal Arms: Xinth, The Black Coat.

This oddly shaped weapon may look like a pair of fists at first, but it is not. It is a wearable suit of power armor akin to Iron Man’s. Here’s how to unlock Hades 2’s brand-new weapon before fighting the new threats above the Surface.

Gather Adamant

Before getting this mysterious new weapon, you must gather the right resources. Like all the Nocturnal Arms in Hades II, it requires materials found all across the Underworld and the Surface world. The Sister Blades require a piece of silver, the Moonstone Axe needs fifteen, and Xinth, the Black Coat, needs two pieces of Cinder and Adamant.

Cinder is a pretty easy resource if you’ve been playing the same game since launch. It is obtained in the Underworld as a reward for beating Melinoe’s mentor in Erebus, Hecate.

Adamant, however, is a trickier material to obtain. It is a resource found on the Surface of Mount Olympus. This requires you to brave your way across two formidable bosses in Ephyra and Thessaly.

Before heading to the Surface, make sure to equip the Crescent Pickaxe. You can easily mine them once you set foot into Olympus as it’s shaped like a regular rock. Getting two Adamant is doable in one run. Just make sure you actually make it to Olympus.

Using the Black Coat

The Black Coat is a weird weapon but Hades is no stranger to its arsenal of oddities. We’ve had a Skull as a Gun, and a pair of Torches, so a rocket-powered suit is no surprise for Hades players.

The Black Coat has a mix of melee and ranged attacks, making it an all-rounder weapon if you find the other weapons lacking in power.

Its Omega Attack projects a small force field in front of her, important for blocking attacks. It’s also used to emit a powerful blast, like Witcher 3’s Quen.

Plus, it has a special move that can shoot six unguided missiles at enemies. Charging it with its Omega Special creates a short-ranged cone that can lock on to six targets within its range. Overall, the Black Coat’s melee and ranged proficiency can really turn Melinoe into a blend of Iron Man and Mega Man.

Black Coat’s Aspects

Aside from its default Aspect, the Black Coat has two powerful permutations that can be useful on the right occasion.

The two Aspects have their own special quirks that enhance the Coat’s melee and ranged abilities. Selene’s Aspect grants Melinoe a new Hex called Sky Fall where she shoots moon lasers on random enemies. This is especially useful for crowded rooms and tough bosses.

Nyx’s Aspect is more on the Melee side. This allows Melinoe to charge her sprint so she can collide with enemies, inflicting heavy damage. It also buffs her attack and special for a few seconds.

Both Aspects will depend on your playstyle. If you prefer to keep at a balanced distance, Selene’s Aspect can help. For close-ranged encounters, Nyx’s collision powers are your best friend. If none of its Aspects work for you, you can always switch to Melinoe’s default, where all her moves are faster.

The Black Coat is among the six powerful Nocturnal Arms in Hades II. Its recent Olympic Update has given us more than enough to experiment with this brand new killing machine and let’s hope it can help us on the Surface.
