With weekend one of the Modern Warfare 2 beta done and dusted, all eyes are on the second weekend.

With the launch of Modern Warfare 2 on the horizon, attention is turning to the Modern Warfare 2 beta. Just like the previous titles, players have an opportunity to play a small slice of the full build ahead of its launch taking place at the end of October.

Typically, a Call of Duty beta takes place a couple of months before release but in the case of Infinity Ward's sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, the beta takes place just over a month before its worldwide launch taking place at the end of October.

For UK Call of Duty fans, the beta kicks off on September 22, 2022 at 6PM BST while North American players can drop into the action starting from 10AM PST. Check out the table above for start times for multiple regions across the globe.

It's worth noting that the above times apply to the Xbox and PC early access period and the start of another open beta for PlayStation users.

There's always a chance the beta will go live early so be sure to check back nearer the time for all the latest intel.

What's included in the Modern Warfare 2 beta?

Information on the Modern Warfare 2 beta content remains a mystery but thanks to Infinity Ward's regular intel drops, we have a few clues regarding some of the maps.

Maps

We know that the Mercado Las Almas map will feature in the beta in addition to Farm 18, a training facility set in an abandoned cement factory.

Based on previous betas, we expect at least four maps to arrive over the two weekends.

Guns

Information on the weapon arsenal is still unknown but there's a possibility of numerous guns from 2019's Modern Warfare to arrive. The likes of the M4, AK-47, and the AX-50 sniper rifle could appear alongside plenty of new additions. Here's a full list of weapons available in the beta:

Game modes

Game modes provide a range of different gameplay experiences. Whether it's the tactical nature of Search and Destroy or the all-out chaos of Team Deathmatch, there are modes to cater for all styles of play.

The list of game modes appearing in the beta includes Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Knockout, Prisoner Rescue and third-person moshpit.

When does the Modern Warfare 2 beta end?

The first beta weekend came to a close on September 20, 2022, and provided PlayStation players four days of exclusive access.

For PC and Xbox players, the beta ends on September 26, 2022.
