How to Access the Chute Courtyard Key
The Chute Courtyard Key can be found in the Wood Side Apartments. To be more precise, the key is situated in a drawer next to a mannequin within Apartment 202 on 2F. To get there, you can use the staircase on the left-hand side of 1F. Upon reaching the second floor, look for Apartment 202.
Initially, players will have to grab the flashlight before reaching for the key. Upon doing so, though, expect an ambush from the Mannequin. The Mannequin is an enemy character that resembles a look of two conjoined legs. After killing it, you’ll be able to spot the dresser.
By inspecting the drawers, you will come across the Chute Courtyard Key. Its function will be discussed below.

Where to Use the Chute Courtyard Key?
While you may think that the term ‘Chute Courtyard’ gives some direction as to what this key is used for—it doesn’t. Multiple players in the Silent Hill 2 Remake community also pointed frustration at this, pushing the narrative that having a key with an irrelevant name is pointless.
According to the item’s description, the Chute Courtyard Key unlocks a particular courtyard door on the first floor. So, go back to said area using your map. From there, move towards the reception desk. The unlockable door sits directly on the right-hand side.
