Zenless Zone Zero Best Characters

S-Tier Agents

Whether they are Attackers, Supports, or anything in between, these Agents excel during combat, which makes them top-tier choices in Zenless Zone Zero. You should prioritize rolling these agents because they offer exceptional on-field performance and great potential ZZZ team comps.

  • Ellen is an S-Rank Ice Attack character from Victoria Housekeeping who excels in eliminating enemies with her massive Ice elemental damage. She can freeze and continuously damage enemies and shutter them, making her the premier damage dealer. It helps that her best team is also perhaps the best team in the game, with Lycaon and Rina also being incredibly strong.
  • Zhu Yuan is an S-Rank Ether Attack Agent that defeats enemies by bombarding them with bullets. Her attack range and ability deal significant Ether damage with Enhance Shotshells, enabling her to eliminate enemies standing in her way. The only thing holding her back somewhat is her very limited team options, with Nicole being more or less mandatory right now.
  • Lycaon is an S-Rank Ice Stun Agent who deals with Ice Elemental damage to enemies and excels as one of the game's premier daze-focused agents. His fast attacks and abilities can fill enemies' Daze meters fast, allowing him to stun them, which will increase the damage they take. Paired with a strong DPS like Ellen, Lycaon is absurdly strong.
  • Grace is an S-Rank Electric Anomaly Agent who deals great AoE damage to enemies. Most importantly though, as an Anomaly unit, Grace excels at inflicting Electric Attribute Anomaly to enemies, which works wonders in Electric teams and mixed element teams. In fact, she's the fastest Anomaly applicator right now.
  • Nekomata is the perfect S-Rank Physical Attack Agent you want on your team if you just want pure physical damage without any elements accompanying. She's fast, does tons of multi-hits, and does dodge counters, the best ability she has. She can vibe on most teams and perfect for countering those pesky fast Ethereals and human mobs.

A-Tier Agents

These Agents complement S-tier agents in a team and perform adequately in various battles. Although they can perform on their own, their capabilities are generally less in terms of damage output or supportive buffs compared to their S-Rank counterparts.

  • Soukaku is an A-Rank Ice Support that can freeze enemies and buff allies. With a complicated kit, Soukaku is tricky to use but powerful in the right hands. Your goal is to activate Fly the Fly and then swap to your DPS via Chain Attacks or Assist Attacks to pass the ATK buff on.
  • Koleda is an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent dealing fire elemental damage and stands out as a potent daze-centric character. She can raise enemies' daze meters easily to open them up for additional damage. She pairs well with Fire DPS characters like Soldier 11 but also with other teams that work with Belobog, such as Electric.
  • Nicole is an A-Rank Ether Support Agent and is available for free to all players, though don't let that fool you. She's good in crowd control and support to trap enemies, creating an advantage for allies' environment.
  • Lucy is an A-Rank Fire Support character that has a surprising amount of utility. From applying a great deal of daze damage to enemies and dealing off-field damage thanks to her boars, to buffing allies with bonus ATK, Lucy is remarkably well-rounded. However, she does struggle to find many varied team comps in endgame activities.
  • Soldier 11 is an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent who requires good dodge timing to make the most of. With her damage demanding skill up-time and and consistent combos, taking damage is very punishing to her damage output. Fire damage also isn't as strong as other elements, leaving damage dealers like Ellen (Ice) to take the top spot.
  • Ben is a heavy boy and by heavy we mean a big tanky guy who can take a lot of attacks and still stand on his feet. He buffs his allies and his biggest asset yet is his ability to counter almost all attacks and heavy Fire damage. Best with Fire and Physical teams.
  • Corin is one of the best hitters as a free A-Rank Physical Attack character. She can easily support teams that vibe with her and also Physical types. Her skill can easily drain enemy life bars in seconds if you can just time it right.

B-Tier Agents

These Agents rank lowest among the agents in the game because of their less potent skill kits or low mobility, making them less effective in gameplay. However, you can still integrate them into your team, but you must invest significantly to make them viable, which is costly.

  • Anby is a free A-Rank Electric Stun character that can also buff allies, making her a flexible choice in many teams. Anby's greatest strength is simply being a Stun character, since stunning enemies with daze increases the damage they take, so Anby pairs well with virtually any strong damage dealer.
  • Piper is an A-Rank Physical Anomaly character designed to quickly apply Physical Anomaly on enemies, which is arguably the strongest of the elements. When paired with a strong Physical damage dealer like Corin or Nekomata, or a DPS of a different element, Piper is very strong.
  • Rina, or Alexandrina Sebastine, is an S-Rank Electric Support Agent who excels at buffing the team. While her attacks give her an Electric damage boost and penetrates her enemies, she's only good with a good team that can support her. Being alone with a team she's not in vibe with would not make her an asset but only a liability. She does good buffs though.

C-Tier Characters

  • Anton is an A-Rank Electric Attack Agent who specializes in long attack chains to dish out heavy damage. While relatively strong at base level, Anton does get significantly better with upgrade Talents, even increasing your team's Crit Rate. Though big issue is just how clunky he often feels, especially because his damage relies on a lengthy combo. If you can pull it off, it's great Electric damage. If you can't, you'd be better with another DPS. He's a good pick in Electric teams, though he's likely to be overshadowed going forward.

D-Tier Characters

  • Billy Kid is a free A-Rank Physical Attack Agent. While he's got great range and mobility - and a cool design, Billy is unfortunately rather lacking in the damage department. It doesn't help that Billy is also competing with Corin, another free A-Rank Physical Attack character. Just remember to stay in relatively close range, as Billy will deal more damage in his sweet spot.

That's all for our Zenless Zone Zero tier list guide for now. Make sure to bookmark this page for more updates and changes. Once you've got your team of the best characters assembled, it's time to gear up for the ZZZ endgame activities. Shiyu Defense and Hollow Zero will be waiting for you.
