After nearly 4 years, Bethesda's MachineGames has unveiled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in all its glory. They are developing the game alongside the revived Lucasfilm Games, and what we've seen so far is nothing short of brilliant.
Officially teased by Bethesda in January 2021, the game was first pitched in 2009 and has since gone through so many changes that it's hard to imagine just what the game's early beginnings were.

When the game was first teased, development for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was in its early days, and a potential release date seemed impossible to narrow down.
However, a new trailer unveiled during Summer Game Fest 2024 confirmed the release date: 2024. Unfortunately, the exact month and day have not been revealed, but players interested in Indy's newest adventure will be glad to know that, at the very least, they won't have to wait until next year.
If we had to speculate on when Indiana Jones and The Great Circle will be released, we'd guess around late 2024, in either October or November.

Fans hoping that the Indiana game will be a retelling of one of the movies are set to be sorely disappointed, as Todd Howard has confirmed that the Indiana Jones Game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer.
“It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news,” the company added.
Furthermore, the new trailer during Summer Games Fest and the game's Steam page have revealed more information about what Indiana will be up to this time around.
Set between the events of the movies Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle follows Indy in 1937. Players will join him as he seeks to discover a "world-shattering secret" behind the theft of an item that, at first glance, seems unimportant: a stone that holds the answers to something known as The Great Circle.
Unfortunately for Indy, he and his partner Gina aren't the only ones looking to solve such a mystery. Sinister forces are at work and, in typical MachineGames style, Indy will have no choice but to punch a Nazi to figure out what.

An official showcase reveal was unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2024. In it, we got to see a glimpse of the story that awaits players when the game comes out sometime in 2024.
We also got to find out more about Indy's partner on this mystery, Gina Lombardi. Gina is an investigative journalist who has personal stakes that lead her to investigate the Great Circle mystery.

MachineGames will be taking on development duties, and they know a little something about killing Nazis thanks to their work on the critically-acclaimed game Wolfenstein.
The game will also boast Todd Howard as executive producer, the man behind Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

While it seems certain that Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC owners will get to play Indy's digital adventure, it does not seem like PS5 owners will get the same pleasure. At least, not straight away.
It's a shame, but not entirely unexpected, considering MachineGames is now owned exclusively by Microsoft.
