GTA Plus is a decent gaming service, letting fans play some of Rockstar’s best games for a monthly fee. Rockstar Games wants to expand on the service’s available systems, with plans to bring it to Switch, even if it doesn’t have GTA V.

On Twitter, Tez2 noticed that Rockstar Games updated the service to include “Nintendo Switch” in the platform list for the company’s games. While this isn’t being used on the website, this does hint at the service coming to Nintendo’s handheld/console hybrid.

Although nothing has been confirmed, this could mean that GTA Plus will come to Switch and make the current trilogy playable on that system. Other games like Liberty City Stories and Chinatown Wars are also in this service, making fans hope they will be on Switch.

Rockstar Games has a minor presence on the Nintendo Switch, though the games available are technically quality. The GTA Trilogy are technically good games, these are just bad ports with better versions on Netflix’s games service. At the least, Red Dead Redemption is available on Switch and it was ported well, running as good as the original PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Many gaming companies have shown interest in bringing their subscription service to the Switch, so Rockstar’s GTA Plus isn’t alone here. There were rumours that Microsoft wanted to bring Xbox Game Pass to Switch, though they never came to fruition.

It will be interesting to see if these plans get finalized for the Switch, or if Rockstar Games decides to wait for the Switch’s successor. Now that a Switch 2 is coming out, there’s a good chance that Rockstar will bring more of their games to the stronger system. Should the rumors be proven true, this new system might be able to play GTA V.

At the time of writing, GTA Plus is available now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms. Only time will tell if it comes out on Nintendo Switch.
