The Kingdom Hearts series is coming to Steam for the first time in forever, finally giving stubborn PC fans the opportunity to play these classics. While the series has always been available on Epic Games, Steam users are stubborn and they probably want to play this on their Steam Deck.
Fans were overjoyed when the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account announced that the series would be coming to Steam next month, on June 13. Similar to the previous re-releases, the series is divided into three games: 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX HD, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and III + Re Mind. All of those names might sound confusing, but players will get the gist of it by playing the games in that order.
Hardcore fans can also purchase all of these games in the special INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE bundle, if they want everything from the get-go. In addition to owning all of the games, players will also gain exclusive access to the “Dead of Night” Keyblade for the “third” entry if they buy INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE or KH3 by itself.
We mentioned Steam Deck earlier because this might be the first time gamers will be able to play Kingdom Hearts on a handheld natively. Although these RPGs are technically available on Nintendo Switch, they’re Cloud versions, which means they need a constant internet connection and that’s unacceptable.
It’s been a long time coming, as these collections have been available on PS4 since the late 2010’s. Xbox One fans waited a long time to get these games on their systems as well, while poor Nintendo Switch fans had to settle for poor Cloud versions. Epic Games was a viable option for many, but like we said, Steam users are stubborn, especially now that the Steam Deck is available.
After literal years of fans waiting, the Kingdom Hearts series is finally coming to Steam on June 13. Sane gamers can pick these up already on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Epic games. Don’t buy it on Nintendo Switch, wait for the Switch 2 to get a proper port.
