Marvel Rivals has a loaded roster filled with heroes and villains, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see fan-favorite anti-hero Venom make the cut. It only makes sense to see him in the upcoming hero shooter since his rival, Spider-Man, was already revealed for the game.

An exclusive trailer from IGN reveals that the fan-favorite symbiote is in the shooter and looks ridiculously fun to use in this game. Like Spider-Man, he can crawl on walls and swing around the arena, making him a character who can quickly traverse around arenas. Unlike Spidey, the villain can use his tendrils to drag and smack numerous players in a really cool way.

Fans of Marvel vs Capcom will also be happy to know that the Marvel Rivals version of Venom has a move that looks like Venom Fang. Making fans even happier is that Venom will come in black and blue variants, the latter of which was his default MvC skin.

The best part about this version of Venom by far is that its Eddie Brock and not a certain son of a goblin like in a major PS5 exclusive. Honestly, this shouldn’t surprise anyone since Brock has been the default Venom in previous games and animated shows, but Spider-Man 2 did scare off some players.

Based on the gameplay alone, the Marvel Rivals version of Venom looks like a really fun villain to use in this game. Having a good mix of speed and strength should make him a fan-favorite right away. This design of the character is also pretty good, with a good mixture of his comic appearances and his look in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Expect to see even more of these characters revealed in Marvel Rivals, as the shooter is packed with heroes and villains from the comics. Many fans are hoping that this hero shooter will replace their love for Overwatch 2 and the trailers have done a great job of doing that.
