Marvel Rivals looks like it’s going to be the next hot hero shooter, with fans excited to get their hands on this anticipated title. In fact, some gamers are so excited for this shooter that they’re willing to abandon Overwatch 2 for it, inadvertently showing the poor state of that title.

On the game’s subreddit, a post by a_medine shared that well-known Toy Story meme where Andy chooses Buzz Lightyear over Woody. This is often used when fans find something better to enjoy than their current hobby. Unsurprisingly, the abandoned Woody is Overwatch and Buzz is Marvel Rivals.

While Rivals isn’t out yet, fans have been disappointed with Overwatch 2 for a long while now, due to many broken promises. Activision Blizzard canceled the game's Hero Missions, which would have finally given players some story content to go through. This mode would have also given each hero skill trees, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

No one thinks that Overwatch is going to go away, as its a pretty big franchise for Activision Blizzard now. Still, all of these broken promises have made Overwatch 2 a worthless sequel, hence, fans wanting to replace it with Marvel Rivals. It will be interesting to see how fans feel about the Marvel hero shooter when the game comes out, but the overall feeling is pretty positive.

Currently, Rivals is still on beta, so the game isn’t readily available for everyone to play just yet. Fans who have played this superhero shooter have had a good time, enjoying how each character plays differently from each other. With cool areas based on the comics and movies, it’s easy to see why fans are so hyped for this game.

Marvel Rivals doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing, though it will be coming out on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series systems. Overwatch 2 is readily available on every current-gen system. Both games are free-to-play so fans can try them without any financial loss.
