Activision has pledged to continue development of Call of Duty: Mobile despite the oncoming launch of Warzone Mobile. Instead, CoD Mobile players will be treated to years of additional development and new content.

With the Warzone Mobile release date just around the corner, many fans expected support to die off for the pre-existing CoD Mobile. Instead, Activision will continue to support the game with new seasons for years to come.

Activision announces the plans for continued support following backlash surrounding removed content. This same content was also announced as coming to a number of Warzone Mobile game modes, leading many to believe that support was ending for the original free FPS game.

In a new statement, it’s confirmed that CoD Mobile will still be heavily supported with new content, seasons, missions and cosmetics.

We wanted to let you know that Shoot House and Alcatraz will soon be leaving Call of Duty: Mobile,” reads a statement on Twitter. “This is not permanent, both will be returning later this year, rotating in and out each season like other playlists in the game.”

“Call of Duty: Mobile will continue to get new content every season and there are no plans to change the breadth of content we bring to COD:M players,” they continued. “Stay tuned for more info on exciting new content we have coming this year!”

CoD Mobile has just received a massive new season in the form of Season 3 Vintage Vigilante, adding new weapons to the shotgun tier list and assault rifle tier list. With a CoD Mobile PC release also on the way, it seems Activision is very much inclined to keep the mobile game supported for a good while yet.

The most exciting part of Warzone Mobile will be its introduction of cross-progression. While Warzone Mobile cross-play has yet to be announced, your guns and skins will carry over from the main games into the new mobile game. This means that the new SMG buffs will also make the Lachmann Sub a beast for mobile players.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile releases soon on Android and iOS.
