Nintendo reported their latest financial results today for Q1 2021, giving us a look at how their recent Switch games have sold. Alongside updated figures for previous games, three new games have reached over 1 million sales: New Pokémon Snap, Mario Golf: Super Rush and Miitopia.
Between the first quarter (covering April to June 2021) of this fiscal year, New Pokémon Snap was the highest seller, having reaching 2.07 million units since April. New Pokémon Snap, Mario Golf, Miitopia All Surpassed One Million Sales
It's not all good news for Nintendo though. Overall software sales declined by 10.2% when compared to this time last year, while hardware sales dropped by 21.7%, with Nintendo acknowledging Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a "major driver" of that. Income from mobile gaming also decreased, though thanks to "royalty income" increases, that sector remained level at 13.1 billion yen.
However, it's not all down to new games here. Nintendo note that their back catalogue is still performing well, pointing to games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons as key sellers. You can find the full list of first-party sales figures below.
