No Man's Sky: How to Farm Salvaged Data
The best way to farm Salvaged Data is to land on a planet and look for Buried Technology Modules. You can use your scanner on any planet to find these. We recommend taking an exocraft with you like the Roamer. Tag a Buried Technology Module and head over to dig it up. You'll get 1-4 Salvaged Data for each one. Usually they are spaced around 400m apart, so you can hop between them, digging up Salvaged Data with your Terrain Manipulator. You can collect 100-120 Salvaged Data per hour in this way.
What Is Salvaged Data Used For?
Salvaged Data is primarily used to unlock crafting recipes on board the Anomaly. Upgrades will cost anywhere between 1 to 15 Salvaged Data, and will add the recipe to your inventory for later. You can also place Salvaged Data into a Refiner to make Nanites. We recommend not doing this until you've unlocked all of the recipes in the game, as there are better ways to make Nanites.
