The good news is that you can find the Flashlight early on, but you will need to solve a few puzzles and visit the correct locations to obtain it. Here’s how you can acquire the Flashlight:
Locate the Wood Side Apartments Key
To start your search for the Flashlight, head over to East South Vale. To get into the Wood Side Apartments, you'll have to get your hands on the Wood Side Apartments Key.
You can find this key in the alley next to a greenish-blue car between landmarks Neely’s Bar, American Cafe, Texan Cafe, and Gonzales Restaurant. After acquiring the key, use it to unlock the entrance to the Wood Side Apartments on the west side of Katz Street.
Enter the Wood Side Apartments
After entering the Wood Side Apartments, your main objective is to reach Apartment 202 on the second floor (2F).
Be sure to thoroughly explore the building, as there are enemies scattered throughout. You'll find a map of each floor on the board next to the reception counter, which will guide you to the right locations.
If needed, you can save your progress at the Save Points located in the Reception Office before heading upstairs. Just to avoid any nasty surprises.
Find the Flashlight in Room 202
On the second floor, you'll hear a scary noise coming from Apartment 202. Walk into the room and you will find a mannequin with the Flashlight attached to its neck. Once you get near the mannequin, interact with it to get the Flashlight.
When you interact with the mannequin to pick up the Flashlight, it will start attacking immediately. Be sure to defeat this enemy quickly to avoid taking damage.
