While being a jack of all trades isn’t the best way to navigate through life, it surely is the path to victory in Space Marine 2. The game allows its players to choose from over six different classes, each specializing in certain situations.

So, flexibility on the battlefield is key to survival and victory. Irrespective of the game mode you’re currently playing, it’s essential to master how to switch your class and loadout during combat.

Changing Classes and Loadouts in Operations Mode

Operations Mode is where most of the customization takes place.

You're prompted to select a class before you begin a mission and must visit the Armouring Hall in case of tweaks. This hub is accessible through Fast Travel, though you can also navigate it on the Barge.

Upon reaching the Armouring Hall:

  • Go to a terminal
  • Open it up for customization options
  • Choose a loadout from six different classes available.

After selecting a class, you can further modify it as well.

The classes you choose will be locked in once the operation begins. During mid-mission, though, you can adjust your loadouts by using Drop Pods.

Customizing in Eternal War (PvP Mode)

The class customization process in Eternal War is different from the former. Your selections in the Armouring Hall aren't permanent and can be adjusted at the beginning of every match.

To change your loadout during a PvP match:

  • Pause the game
  • Select Change Class from the menu.

You can only have two of each class per team in Eternal War. Choosing how you spend them should depend on multiple factors. For instance, being aware of the loadouts your team members are using. If your preferred class has already been taken, having fundamental knowledge of how each class operates will be beneficial.

Strategic Tips for Class and Loadout Management

  • Understand Your Role: There are six classes in the game. Each of them specializes in a certain combat-related situation. While playing modes that include a team, each member has a specific role. So, having a fundamental knowledge of how each class operates will be significant in deciding what role you should go for
  • Plan for Flexibility: Always have a backup plan. While you can set up your preferred classes before a mission, having an understanding of how each of them operates will give you an advantage especially if your preferred class isn’t available
  • Regularly Update Your Loadout: While this is pretty basic information, many players ignore it. As you play more, you'll progress and unlock new weapons and gear. Regularly visiting the Armouring Hall ensures your loadout stays up-to-date, giving you a significant edge in combat.
