Netflix and Ubisoft announced an update on the Splinter Cell anime as part of GeekedWeek.
While there’s still no Splinter Cell anime release date, we do know who’s in charge of production and also got a broad outline of the plot thanks to an exclusive report from Variety.
The Splinter Cell anime’s first season is eight episodes long, though we’d be surprised if it’s not renewed for another season.
Not only did Castlevania go over very well with viewers, but Netflix also commissioned two Far Cry anime series.
“Adult animation is one of the most powerful ways to pay tribute to the culture and community of gaming,” Hélène Juguet, managing director of Ubisoft’s Paris film and television division, said.
In other words, expect more Ubisoft anime shows in the future.

Ubisoft and Netflix haven’t announced a release date for the Splinter Cell anime yet.
However, it’s been in production for a little while already, so presumably we can expect to see more of it in the coming months.
Splinter Cell Netflix Story
The National Security Agency recruits Sam Fisher, a former Navy S.E.A.L., to their Third Echelon Division where he engages in undercover black ops missions. The Third Echelon Division has secrets of its own, so we’re expecting plenty of intrigue.
