Bad guys have become exponentially more dangerous in recent years.

Time was, a supervillain could only cause chaos in their own dimension. Nowadays, the entire multiverse is up for grabs.

Dimensionals, from developer Mino Games, sees you hopping from dimension to dimension rescuing the Dimensionals, who have been laid low by the Specter King’s spectacular attacking.

Each of the Dimensionals that you save becomes a hero in your army, giving you a growing range of capabilities to draw on.

Gameplay-wise, Dimensionals is primarily a roguelike turn-based RPG, but also a little bit deckbuilder and a little bit Saturday morning cartoon.

If that sounds like your sort of combination, you can play the Steam playtest from July 10th.

Mino Games is promising a highly accessible gameplay experience, with an emphasis on casual fun, in keeping with all the cartoony vibes.

But that doesn’t mean Dimensionals is simple. On the contrary, its dozens of heroes and hundreds of skill cards can be combined in a mind-melting number of different ways, giving you enormous tactical scope.

Certain heroes are suited to certain situations, and complement other heroes in certain ways.

Skill cards, meanwhile, are dished out randomly, meaning not only that each roguelike run is unique, but also that you’ll need to be able to adapt on the fly, making the most of the cards in your hand.

On top of all that, Dimensionals features a super tough Master Raid mode, which consists of traditional RPG party management, procedurally generated maps, and ultra-tough boss battles.

The cartoony, hand-crafted story campaign takes place across multiple episodes, and levels come with their own polished comic book cutscenes, injecting the whole thing with a sense of fun.

And so does the music, which comes from acclaimed composer Brad Breeck, who wrote the score for Gravity Falls.

To get in on the ground floor of this indie classic in the making, wishlist it right now on Steam, follow it on X and TikTok, and check out the official website.
