Stalker 2’s Multiplayer Will Arrive in a Post-Launch Update

GSC Game World's upcoming first-person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is set for a 2022 release, but you can't play the multiplayer modes at launch. Instead, that'll be available through a separate content players post-launch.

As confirmed in PC Gamer's magazine, GSC Game World offered a new look at their upcoming sequel, outlining various new features. Whilst confirming multiplayer will be present, that'll arrive as a free update, adding PvP, classic deathmatch, and team deathmatch.

Stalker 2’s Multiplayer Will Arrive in a Post-Launch Update

There's no specific co-op mode included sadly, though according to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 director's, Evgeniy Grygorovych, there's good reason. He explained:

It is impossible to add a co-op mode without ruining the experience of overcoming the difficulties on your own.

As for the game itself, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the first AAA title that utilizes Unreal Engine 5, coming in at a huge 180GB download. That's launching for Xbox Series X/S and PC on April 28th, 2022. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
