With Star Wars’ several explorable planets and Ubisoft’s penchant for huge, sprawling, open worlds, the announcement of Star Wars Outlaws seems like a match made in heaven.

As expected, the game is set to bring players to several locations familiar and new to the Star Wars universe, and a new trailer has been dropped to highlight several key locations in the game. This is via IGN:

Admittedly, the teaser is pretty short, but here are some things we know about the planets that would be appearing in Outlaws. Respectively, the are:

Cantonica (Canto Bight)

The Last Jedi may have introduced fans to the city of Canto Bight, but Outlaws is going to bring players to the actual planet of Cantonica which is the home planet of the protagonist Kay Vess.

Though Star Wars fans had been used to the grimy underground that was run by gangsters like Jabba the Hutt, Canto Bight was Star Wars’ first look into the lives of the elite in the world who put themselves above the conflict of the Rebellion and the Empire.

And make no mistake, the wealthy like to stay in Canto Bight, but that doesn’t mean the city doesn’t have its fair share of the poor population, which is also pretty rampant. With Kay Vess wanting to make a name for herself in Outlaws, it’s possible she’s one of the poorer kids who grew up on the planet and is finding a way to make her way up in the ranks of the underworld.

Akiva

Akiva is new location that hasn’t been seen in any of the films/tv series before, but it was mentioned in the Aftermath novels that came out around the time of the Sequel Trilogy. Simply put, it’s a jungle planet, filled with all kinds of forestry and wildlife.

Most notable, the planet also has a droid factory, and some speculate that this will be where Kay finds her robot partner ND-5.

The Moon of Toshara

Toshara is a new location that’s been created for the game, and it looks to be inspired by a desert outback, filled with plains and wildlife. With the view of the landscapes and fantastical visuals, it’s suggested that players will spend a lot of time on Toshara on their speeders just soaking in the environment.

But like every other planet, Toshara also has its share of seedy outposts, and Kay will have to navigate them properly in order to pull of some of her shadier deals.

Kijimi

A relatively new location when it comes to the Star Wars universe, Kijimi was a snowy fortress that fans first saw in The Rise of Skywalker. Though the planet never got to see the end of that movie, Kay will be able to fully explore it in Outlaws.

In the game, Kijimi is the home of the Ashiga Clan which is said to be run by Melitto, blind insect humanoids. Fingers crossed fans also get a cameo from the planet’s most memorable inhabitant—the mechanic Babu Frik.

Tatooine

Of course, it’s not an Outlaw game if it doesn’t include the most infamous hive of scum and villainy in Star Wars.

Home of the Hutt Cartel, Tatooine is the perfect place for any smuggler to thrive. Whether it’s bounty hunting or transporting illegal contraband, chances are there’s going to be someone offering a job. Let’s just hope that Kay is up to the task.

There’s a chance that the game is holding out on some other planets that could show up, but as of now, it does seem that all of the announced planets are the ones that players will be able to roam freely with multiple side quests and jobs available.

Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on Aug. 30 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
