Whether you’re looking for games that will deliver heart-pounding jump scares or spine-chilling atmospheres, there is surely something for everyone.

From survival games to psychological thrillers, here are the five scariest Switch games for Halloween 2024.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage

Cute, cuddly, but deadly. Who would’ve thought that an innocent-looking feline could be the most badass cat in Gori: Cuddly Carnage?

This hack-and-slash action-adventure video game by Angry Demon Studio and Wired Productions is the perfect combination of violence and chaos, as Gori, one of the last prototype synthetic pets, was smuggled out of Cool-Toyz Inc. before destruction occurred.

Sure, it doesn’t have the most shocking jump scares or eeriest narrative, but its gore is enough to make you scream as you paint the town red with F.R.A.N.K.’s blades and slice and dice the most horrific and twisted toy designs you will ever see.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

If exploring haunted mansions and catching hostile ghosts is your thing, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is for you.

A remaster of the 2013 Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, this action-adventure video game is straightforward but offers a good chance to revisit one of the best 3DS games.

Alisa Developer's Cut

After four years, Alisa Developer’s Cut is finally here.

This horror action-adventure video game perfectly channels classic PlayStation 1 horror titles, paying homage to retro survival horror games like Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil.

Follow the elite royal agent Alisa as she gets whisked away to an old, bizarre Victorian-style mansion in a fantastical world reminiscent of the 1920s, trying to escape while being haunted by the most terrifying doll-like creatures.

Alisa Developer's Cut is another must-try this Halloween, a genuine throwback to the golden age of '90s 3D games with its campy storytelling and retro graphics.

Conscript

Set in 1916 during the Great War, Conscript isn’t your ordinary survival horror game.

It’s powerful and haunting. It effectively combining historical authenticity with classic gameplay mechanics to make you realize that the real monster is war.

Play as a French soldier searching for his brother during the Battle of Verdun. Navigate twisted trenches, scavenge for limited supplies, and solve complex puzzles while you fight to survive.

Inspired by Resident Evil, Conscript features the same grimy, disturbing setting and gruelling combat that made the Japanese horror game series loved by many.

From aesthetics and themes to sound design and graphics, Conscript is one of the best games you can play on Switch this Halloween.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is now considered one of the best video games of 2024, thanks to its cryptic, puzzling, and challenging gameplay.

A psychological horror puzzle game by Simogo and Annapurna Interactive, you play as a woman who has been summoned by an eccentric man to join a mysterious project in an old hotel and becomes embroiled in a game of illusions that are both dangerous and surreal.

But despite being enigmatic, the game’s riddles are pretty easy to solve and tell a beautiful story that makes Lorelei a game like no other.

Although it’s not outright scary, the whole situation itself is definitely eerie.
